On Sunday, September 23, 2007 The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia presented "A Gala Season Opening Reception" at the Kimmel Center's Cadence Restaurant. The event included two important announcements - a six-disc recording contract with Glossa Music and the announcement that Maestro Solzhenitsyn extended his contract as Music Director. On Saturday, May 19, 2007 The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia presented "A Gala Evening with Michel Legrand" at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Philadelphia - a special birthday celebration featuring performances by Mr. Legrand and his wife Catherine Michel. On Sunday, May 7, 2006 The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia presented "Mozart Un-Masked" at the Park Hyatt at the Bellevue - a Gala event featuring appearances by Tom Hulce and F. Murray Abraham ("Mozart" and "Salieri" from Amadeus and a performance by Maestro Ignat Solzhenitsyn and concertmaster Gloria Justen. On December 5, 2005 The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia presented "Bach and Birds", a special big-screen football party following the Monday night subscription conert, with Music Director Ignat Solzhenitsyn and the musicians of the Chamber Orchestra at Cadence Restaurant at the Kimmel Center. On September 25, 2005 The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia held a Gala Season-Opening Reception, with special guests the Eroica Trio, Music Director Ignat Solzhenitsyn and the musicians of the Chamber Orchestra at Cadence Restaurant at the Kimmel Center. On May 13, 2005 The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia held "Comedy Night at the Italian Opera", a Gala event honoring Kimmel Center CEO Janice Price at Philadelphia's Ritz-Carlton Hotel. On September 15, 2003 The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia presented "Pavarotti in Philadelphia", a Gala event at the Kimmel Center featuring the legendary Luciano Pavarotti in concert at the Kimmel Center's Verizon Hall. On March 30, 2002 The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia welcomed Mstislav Rostropovich to a Gala concert and event in recognition of his 75th Birthday at Verizon Hall. |
